Michelle Boyde


Michelle is a creative director and designer with a Bachelor of Design (Honours) from RMIT, Melbourne.

With a background in dance and choreography, her interest lies at the intersection of performance and design, and creating interactive events that allow audiences to engage with, and complete the work.  

Michelle has curated and creatively directed several art and design-driven events, including a series of site-specific performance events for Melbourne Fashion Festival’s Arts program (Flash Fashion and Flash Factory), Melbourne’s State of Design Festival (Flash Faction), National Gallery of Victoria’s Art Beat series (Andy Warhol's Time Capsules opening) and Monash Gallery of Art (Tracey Moffatt Retrospective opening).    

As a headwear and costume designer, clients include MONA, Dark MOFO and Faux Mo (Supple Fox), Chunky Move Dance Co., Insite Arts, Arena Theatre Co. and Bakehouse Studios, Melbourne amongst others.   She is currently collaborating with interior designer, Danielle Brustman on a series of interdisciplinary projects combining interior and fashion design

Michelle also participates in social dreaming practice, and has participated in, and led several social dreaming conferences as movement director, most recently in Utopia (NT), Point Hicks, Marysville (Vic) and Hobart (TAS).
